Bucky set the bag down on the counter and moved to get a couple of plates out of the cabinet, having learned Steve's kitchen layout pretty well by that point. "Hey, I can make more than scrambled eggs. Had to keep myself fed while I lived in a hut, didn't I?" No, he couldn't make much more than scrambled eggs. But he could make grilled cheese. And a simple stew that consisted of throwing things in a pot over the fire and just letting them... stew.
He isn't sure why, exactly, Steve wants to talk about the day on the helicarrier. That day, in particular, is one that Bucky tries not to think about, and it's possible there are things about it that Bucky blocked out. But, if Steve wants to talk about it Bucky is willing to do the same.
After all, if they're going to try this being together as more than friends thing, they need to talk about things.
